Any experience with temporary pens?

As we get ready to add more livestock exhibit space to what was once the Heritage Barn, we need some advice on the best way to construct temporary pens. Do any of you have thoughts on how to best build sturdy and yet move-able/re-useable pens for medium sized livestock? The more variety we have to choose from, built from the most experience, the better our exhibits will be!

Any resources you know of? Farm Supply outlets, fencing companies, etc? We could sure use your info!

Can you help this family find a home for their dog?

We just heard of a wonderful australian shepherd that needs a new home QUICKLY. Currently, the dog is living with two adults, two kids under 4, and one more baby on the way. Life is simply a bit overwhelming for the family right now and they want to make sure their dog finds a home with someone who can better care for it.

Calling all Petting Farms

The Kiwanis Club organizes a camp each summer at Camp Casey for young people with various physical and emotional challenges. Part of the camp experience in the past has been the opportunity to pet companion animals and livestock.

This year, the camp will run from July 28 - August 2. We know this is right before Fair, but it has always been a very meaningful experience for ALL who participated (those in 4-H as well as those in the camp).

If your club is interested in supporting this very worthy effort, please let Judy know ASAP...we need to respond to the camp coordinator by May 15. Thanks!
